The Coordinator of the National Early Childhood Development Program Dr. Anita Asiimwe together with other officials inaugurated a center-based ECD constructed in Musave of Bumbogo sector in Gasabo District.
The center which takes care of 178 children from surrounding cells was built by Parenting Child Care Rwanda (PCCR) in partnership with Gasabo District under support of Child Fund Korea.
Speaking at the occasion, NECDP Coordinator Dr. Anita Asiimwe emphasized on ECD pillars and the importance of investing in early years for the benefit of the child, the family, the community and the country at large. “In 2050 Rwanda aspiration is to be a high-income country, the little ones that we are taking care of now are the ones that will lead our country to achieve this target”, Dr. Asiimwe said.
She thanked PCCR and other partners in implementing ECD interventions and urged Bumbogo parents to utilise Musave ECD center as an opportunity for them to ensure a healthy growth of their children.
This centre comprises three good stimulation rooms, a well equipped kitchen latrines, offices and a multipurpose hall for parenting sessions. The space has also a garden with trees to attract fresh air and fruit trees for children feeding, a well lockable fence and playground for children.
